Management of elementary school in Most pri Bratislave made in the new school building, which was built by Slovak branch of Fagus, hilarious video with their pupils, presented at the opening ceremony of the school.
This building was a challenge for both technology as well as for suppliers and workers. Supporting structure and 90 minutes fire proof roof construction, concrete floors, exclusive facade, atypical multilevel staircase, integrated elevator and high level interior equipment meets demanding requirements of today's modern architectural buildings.
Fagus celebrates production of 50 000 steel framed constructions
In our own production facility in Lipa we have already produced 50,000 pieces of steel frame constructions for production of various types of modules for modular buildings. In other figures, it is about 75 million kg of steel (weight approximately of 8 Eiffel towers), and if we put frames in one row behind each other, we can create line 350 km long.
The next phase of construction of student accommodation in the Netherlands is already in full swing. Foundations are almost finished, and now power and water installations are being prepared.
We have recently completed and successfully handed-over first block of approx. 2000 m2 of apartment houses for refugees in Bremen, Germany. This is first phase of total of three apartment complexes with a total area of approx. 6000 m2. Next phase will be implemented by Fagus in autumn this year. Apartment houses are composed of individual double and quadruple flats. Each apartment has a bathroom, kitchen and living room. Two-pitched buildings with roofed terrace and separate entrance enhance comfort and more privacy for guests. City of Bremen provide outdoor playground, parking, green areas at these houses to higher comfort of living here.
Supplier of fibreplaster boards Fermacell published in its internet pages information about modular schools and kindergartens in Germany, which have been built lately produced and assembled by Fagus.
In March 2014 final assembly of compressor station was executed on oil platform nearby Baku. Station was produced, assembled and tested in autumn of 2013, then taken apart and transported to Azerbaijan. Start of assembly had to be postponed several times due to unfavourable conditions on sea, because containers had to be re-loaded from special crane boat to platform, and it was not possible to bring the boat near platform for sufficient distance because of strong wind and high waves. Assembly of station including recovery of installed technologies took approximatelly 4 weeks.
This year assembly works have been already started in several locations. Among one of the first it was special school in Herdecke near Dortmund. Our workers had to solve problems with access of trucks before placement of modules, and also with wrongly done water outlets provided by supplier of foundation. First modules were then placed in late afternoon and time schedule was streched to the evening hours.
FAGUS is continuously looking for new opportunities for modular buildings. Except for "routine" Dutch university campuses we are also building in the peaceful town of Goor the pilot project of Nursing Home. Construction was started in September 2013 and hand-over is planned before Christmas.

Entire assembly including unloading of material from sea containers took 7 days. At the end of our stay Dutch king Willem Alexander with Queen Máxima arrived for official visit of the island.
Installation of modules construction themselves, including walls, windows and doors, is simple and takes a very short time. In this case, we used 100 mm thick sandwich panels with mineral wool, which has excellent fire and acoustic protection. Sliding windows have been fitted with storm shutters protecting against sunlight and strong wind during a tropical storm.
At the beginning of November, we have started assembly of a small two-classroom school on the island of St. Eustatius in Dutch Antilles in Caribean. Project is executed by flatpack steel framed modules, which can be transported packed in standard see containers, and it thus leads to cost savings on transportation.
Building of total area of 620 m2 serves as administration, business and gastronomy centre, and is constructed with large roof terrace.
Facilities for football stadium SV Wehen-Wiesbaden, called BRITA Arena, was realised by FAGUS, Slusovice, CZ.
In Frankfurt there will be realized reconstruction of current school building in one of the city quarters. During reconstruction works (approximately two years) pupils will move into new modular temporary building, which will be dismantled and used for other purposes after finish of works.
In October, 5th Fagus Open - Frantisek Zeleznik Memorial tournament in football tennis was held. This year 10 teams from all production sites of Fagus attended. Winners were Forever Youngs from Trnava site, second place belonged to Jamajka again from Trnava and third was team Halenkovice 3.
Studies in the Dutch capital attract more and more young people from all around the world. This year, Fagus has contributed to increase accommodation capacity. Complex of 10 buildings was open in Daalwijkdreef, southern suburbs of Amsterdam. Total number of 700 residential units, mainly composed from modules with dimensions of 7.25 x 3.3 m, with own bathrooms, kitchens and central heating systems, and with entire built area of 16,800 m2, was assembled in 10 months. Fast construction and lower overall building costs in comparison with classical buildings are the biggest advantage of prefabricated buildings.
One of the biggest German energy companies took over newly built offices in administration building on north coast in Hamburg. Fagus was main contractor in this project, delivering complete building including NN networks and furniture.
Slovak branch of Fagus organized like every year in August event called Summer Games, which included a football tournament of teams from all production sites of Fagus. This year 6 teams from Slovakia and Czech Republic took part in tournament. Winner of this successful event was team of production Fagus SK, second place went to Lipa site and the third team was Fagus SK office. We thank organizers for preparing and look forward to the Summer Games in 2014.
In the new issue of bulletin of KNI, company that operates a chain of shops in Greenland, was published the article on modular shop in Niaqornat, Fagus built in the fall of 2012. "New modular shop is the first of its kind and is carefully monitored, since it will be a new model line of shops modernized in coming years," says Frederik Olsen, director of Pilersusioq chain. "Employees are excited about new modular shop. They have their work back and look forward to coming to the store every morning. New shop is equipped with heat barrier at the entrance and storage area in the same building. This makes workflow much easier," says Nikolaj Svendsen, sales director.
At the turn of July / August,electro installtion is mainly carried out, lowered ceilings and floorings are shortly before finish. Works on facade continue in full speed. Interior equipment for offices and kitchens have been being also mounted these days.
At the end July we started assembly of new nursery in Wolfsburg-Hattorf.
Windows glazing, electro installations, wallpapers and flooring are being put in these days. Asphalt is layed down on access roads and part of parking space. Large article about this project was published in local newspapers "Ostfriesische Kurier" on 18.7.2013.
An article on student homes in Alesund, built by Fagus in 2011, was published in a regular pan-European newsletter of manufacturer of dry construction systems Fermacell.
In mid June we started assembly of administration building for Dong Energy Hamburg. Construction itself is located in the eastern part of harbor in Norddeich, right on the coast immediately after levee.
4th continuation of Slovacka exhibition, which took place at the renovated arena in Uherské Hradište was attended by over 2000 spectators. This charity match introduced two dozen of Czech and Slovak ice hockey players. We are pleased to participate in this event and help this kind of charity projects.
Since 2011, beginning of summer is devoted to bike ride "Fagus Bike Tour" along Vsetínská Bečva river. 30 active bikers took part in this year ocassion. Entire route was 43 km long. We are looking forward to 4th "Fagus Bike Tour 2014 ' next year!
Fagus has started assembly of new sports facility in Oberhausen. Preliminary finish is planned until end of June 2013.
